Volvo's 2005, XC90 will have a 4.4L, 315 bhp, 320 lbs.-ft. of torque, Yamaha V8 option. This engine is also being considered for use in the S80. Option expected to push the XC90 into the $50K USD price range.

this is wonderful news... as the only flaw with the XC90 when we drove it, was a lack of power... even on the T6 model, it's utterly inadequate. 0-60 in 8.8, feels much slower than that. I know my car (non-turbo 850 auto sedan) has less power and is a bit slower, but it honestly doesn't feel like that. A V8 will make this a top pick in the sport-futility-vehicle market.
