hello everyone, i just registered and thought i'd introduce myself...

i currently drive a 2004 m3, which i love. i've had it for about three years, and it's been relatively worry free... however, my family is growing and if you know anything about e46 m3's, they're prone to very expensive repair costs. i have a decent aftermarket warranty, but frankly, i don't want to worry about major issues, like vanos failure, smg issues, rear subframe issues, etc.

anyhow, for the last little while, i've been on the search for something to replace my m3 with. in the past, i've owned a couple subarus and a mitsu evo. so the new sti peaked my interest, as does the less expensive mazdaspeed3. but both of these cars have rumored engine issues. in the past, i've also been interested in b6+ audi s4 avant's, i even owned one for a week but returned it to carmax after an inspection went bad. anyhow, at this point, i don't really want to deal with another german car.

so now, i'm here. after seeing a v70r on the road today, i decided to look into it more... it's a very compelling car, and one i don't know much about. it seems to fit all my criteria (safe, fun, manual, practical... reliable? i dont know yet). so, like any newbie, i'll be doing as much research as possible, lurking this site, and hopefully not asking too many stupid questions.

thanks in advance!

greg

oh, and here's a pic of my car:
